The Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, organised a Spiritual Retreat (Bhakta Sammelan) in the Mission premises on Sunday 17th September 2017. The topic chosen is “Suffering” or “Dukha”. The programme began with the singing of Bhajans (Bhavasagar o…) led by Swami Dhruvarupananda. This was followed by a meditation session conducted by Revered Secretary Maharaj. The sacred names of Sri Thakur were spelt out by Swami Swasamvedyananda.
For this Bhakta Sammelan Swami Nirantarananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu and Swami Sukhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Patna were specially invited to speak on the subject. After Namarchana was over, Revered Secretary Maharaj delivered a brief address welcoming the speakers, Revered Swamis and all others who had come to participate in the Bhakta Sammelan.
Gita chanting led by Br.Divyachaitanya, Br.Amurtachaitanya and Swami Kapilananda. After the Gita Chanting, Revered Swami Nirantaranandaji spoke on the subject.
After the speeches were over, the devotees attended Aratrikam in the Vivekananda Hall itself. “Khandana bhava bandhana….” was led by Swami Dhruvarupananda and Aratrikam was done by Swami Tadbhasananda. After the aratrikam, all the delegates were served lunch prepared in the Ashram by volunteers and staff.
The afternoon session started with the singing of a few devotional songs by Shri Champak Chatterjee accompanied by Shri Siddharth Bhattacharya on tabla, Shri Bikas Bose on manjira and Shri Ramesh Dwivedi on ghumru. Later Shri Subrata Kundu rendered some more devotional songs accompanied by Shri Siddharth Bhattacharya.
This bhajan programme was followed by an interesting question-answer session in which almost all questions given in writing by some delegates, were answered by Revered Swami Nirantaranandaji Maharaj, Revered Swami Sukhanandaji Maharaj, and Revered Swami Shantatmanandaji Maharaj. This was followed by the singing of “Ramakrishna Sharanam” in chorus by all delegates.
