The center was opened on 8th December, 2004 to empower the poorer sections of the society with access to the digital world by offering computer courses at a nominal rate/free of cost. There are 73 Computers and various training courses are provided at a highly subsidized rate so that poor and low income group students (who have passed their Senior Secondary Examination) can take advantage of the facilities available.
